Welcome to the website of David Fredman! I’m a data scientist with a broad interest in the analysis of biological high-throughput data in the context of function and evolution. I also get excited about reproducible science, software development and new methods and technology.
I am currently working as a researcher in informatics at the University of Bergen in Norway, and recently co-founded the company Northern Genomics doing science as a service.
I have a PhD from the Karolinska Institute in Sweden, and until October 2013 worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Vienna, Austria, at the Department of Molecular Evolution and Development, with a focus on genome evolution from the perspective of animals in the Cnidarian phylum (sea anemones, jellyfish, corals, and the like).
